About Catawba Animal Clinic

We try our best to be available when you need us. We open Monday through Friday at 7:30 a.m. for patient drop-off. Our Saturday hours for medical appointments are 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Please call to make an appointment so that we can serve you in the most efficient manner possible. Our doctors rotate after-hour duties for emergency consultation. We utilize the services of Carolina Veterinary Specialists Emergency Center in Rock Hill for after-hour intensive care needs.

Catawba Animal Clinic is a full service veterinary facility. From advice on pet selection to providing the care needed to take your pet from youth to senior citizenship, we are your pet’s family doctor. Pet health evaluations, annual physical exams, preventive vaccinations, parasite control, laboratory diagnostic tests, surgery, dentistry and senior care are all part of the care that we can provide. We have a close relationship with veterinary specialists when more advanced medical or surgical needs exist.

We make every effort to see that our fees are fair and reasonable for the services we provide. Fees for office visits and procedures are determined by time spent, complexity of the problem and materials needed. It is our sincerest desire to see that you get the best value for the service we provide at our office.

Payment is expected at the time services are rendered. We accept cash, personal checks, Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express and CareCredit, a special medical credit card for which you can apply at our office. If other arrangements are necessary, please discuss that with us prior to your pet being examined. We encourage you to discuss charges with us. Please feel comfortable to ask about financial aspects as well as the medical aspects of your pet’s care.

Let us know how we can help you and your pet. We’ll do our best to meet your needs.

Catawba Animal Clinic History

Catawba Animal Clinic has provided comprehensive veterinary medical care to help meet the needs of pets and families in the greater York County area for over 40 years. Founded in 1978 by Dr. Roger Troutman, the practice has grown along with our community, with a current team of six doctors and a support staff of over forty technicians, receptionists, and patient care specialists. This growth has been made possible by the confidence and loyalty of the three generations of clients we have served.

As we have grown we have expanded both our facilities and the range of services we can provide. Our office first opened  across the street from our current location. Within a short time our patients’ needs had outgrown that space, and we moved to our current address in 1984. As we added team members and services, we continued to grow, and in 2001 our facility was expanded to include Camp Catawba, our personal-care-centered Boarding and Grooming center.

Our facilities and services have expanded, but we are glad that we have not lost our focus on pets and their relationships with their families. We look forward to many more years of helping keep pets happy and healthy.
